IDEAL Networks to webcast technology innovations in structured cabling systems

The structured cabling system is a critical enabling technology for communications systems in all kinds of environments. It serves as the central nervous system for delivering information, and in many cases power as well, to connected devices. As more building systems become connected to the network, the processes as well as the technologies required to commission a structured cabling system can become more complex. As such, these processes and technologies evolve through innovation to best serve the needs of cabling system designers, installers, and users.

It is with this in mind that Dan Barrera, Global Product Manager for IDEAL Networks and Brian Hanchey, Product Line Manager from CommScope will be delivering a webcast seminar (produced by Cabling Installation and Maintenance) on Thursday the 19th of October, exploring some of the latest innovations that enable structured cabling systems to support evolving requirements, as well as techniques and approaches that streamline the commissioning of these systems.

Presentation 1: Cabling Infrastructure to Support the Internet of Things

A structured cabling system remains the primary enabling technology of communications systems in all types of environments. That has been true for decades and remains true with the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT). As more devices and building systems become connected, the physical-layer infrastructure that supports them must meet these IoT devices’ physical-footprint and transmission-performance requirement. This presentation provides an overview of the innovations taking place with cable and connectivity that are enabling the IoT.

Presentation 2: How to Overcome Data Cable Testing Challenges

Data cable installation customers often require certification or proof of performance before a job can be completed, making testing cabling systems an essential part of most projects. Not only does this take time, but contractors must also allocate budget to buying and maintaining the right test equipment, and periodically replacing it. This presentation will look at how cable testing is evolving, and discuss how adopting different processes, systems, and testing tools can help contractors overcome common challenges, save time, and manage capital expenditure more effectively.
